LINC Computer Integrated Curriculum based on Canadian Language Benchmarks 2000
This online curriculum resource was developed for Adult EAL programs funded through the federal Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada Program (LINC). Themes include: community; banking, customer service & telephone; Canada, its culture and law; commercial services & business; community & government services; education; employment; family & relationships; health & safety; travel & transportation.

English Express
English Express is the online version of a newspaper published by Alberta Advanced Education and Technology eight times a year, from September to May, for adults who are improving their English reading skills. There are three levels of articles in each issue. Content frequently has a settlement focus. Some of the online articles have a listening or video component. There are also games, recipes, cartoons and a feature called Teachers Notes.

National Adult Literacy Database
As well as tutor training guides, this organization funded by the National Literacy Secretariat of Human Resources and Social Development Canada has a wealth of learning, research and teaching materials and tools plus links, contacts and discussion groups.

Newcomer's Guide to the Canadian Workplace
This 80-page booklet is written for Adult EAL teachers to help New Manitobans learn English while explaining the information they need to know in order to find jobs and become productive team members comfortable in the workplace.

Creating Authentic Materials and Activities for the Adult Literacy Classroom
Although this guide is intended for adult literacy teachers, there are practical suggestions for EAL teachers, especially in Chapters 3, 4 and 5. The guide comes out of a five-year U.S. study of materials, activities and student collaboration in literacy classrooms.

Coalition of Limited English Speaking Elderly
Among its resources, this US organization serving seniors who face language and cultural barriers produces a guide called Bright Ideas: Tips for Teaching ESL to the Elderly.
