Have your TFWs stay permanently
If you have employed a temporary foreign worker who has worked in Manitoba for at least six months, the worker can apply to stay in Manitoba, and with your company, as a permanent resident of Canada.
Simply have the worker apply through the Employer Direct priority assessment stream of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. To be eligible to apply to through this stream, workers must have a long-term job offer with your company.
Jobs offered to current temporary foreign workers must:
- be long-term, full-time positions in Manitoba
- be offered at prevailing regional wage rates
- be made to a person who meets the required qualifications for the position and who intends to settle in Manitoba
- not be in conflict with existing collective bargaining agreements
- comply with Manitoba's labour standards
Application process
The worker submits a complete application to the MPNP.
The application must include the letter of job offer from your company and a copy of a valid temporary work permit from the Government of Canada.
