The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program undertakes special initiatives to help the province meet the objectives of the Canadian Manitoba Immigration Agreement (CMIA). Initiatives are undertaken at the discretion of the MPNP in accordance with program needs and available resources.
You are eligible to apply to the MPNP through a Strategic Initiative if you:
Basic criteria for Strategic Initiatives
1. Education/Training
Minimum education/training is specified under the terms of a specific initiative but it should include completion of high school.
2. Work experience
Demonstrated employability in Manitoba or as specified under the terms of a specific initiative
3. Language ability
Sufficient instruction and/or demonstrated ability in English and/or French to be employable in Manitoba upon arrival based on supporting education, employment documents and/or employer interview
4. Adaptability
Ability to satisfactorily demonstrate intention and ability to establish successfully in Manitoba based on your:
People invited to apply
Each Strategic Initiative identifies specific partners and criteria for the type and number of applicants that will be invited to apply. The MPNP provides applicants who meet the criteria with a letter inviting them to apply to the MPNP with priority assessment.
For example, each year MPNP officers travel to different countries to meet potential applicants at events such as employment and immigration fairs. People who are interviewed may be formally invited to apply to the MPNP.
