Denturist is a regulated profession in Manitoba.

To work as a denturist in Manitoba you must:

• have completed a denturist program from a school recognized by the Denturist Board of Manitoba
• complete a two-year internship.
• be licensed by the Denturist Association of Manitoba

You must complete the following steps:

Note: The Denturist Association of Manitoba conducts the licensing process in English only. Thus, all documents must be translated into English.

STEP 1: Contact the Denturist Association of Manitoba and tell them you are an internationally educated denturist and want to receive information on how to become licensed to practise in Manitoba.

STEP 2: Complete the Denturist Association of Manitoba application form.

You must submit the following:

• certified education and training documents*
• current or prior licence from your foreign regulatory body*
• additional documents as requested
• fee for credentials assessment if required

* If documents are not in English, notarized translations are required.

STEP 3: Complete a two-year internship in Manitoba under a licensed denturist.

STEP 4: Complete theoretical and practical examinations.

STEP 5: When all requirements have been met and fees paid, you will be licensed to practise as a denturist in Manitoba.

Additional information

Annual membership fee is $1,500. This includes a $200 licence fee plus professional liability insurance.

Internship fee is $200.

The theoretical and practical examinations are offered once a year, usually in the fall. The total fee is $1,000.

As part of your work, you are required to have intermediate or advanced English language skills in the four basic language areas - listening, speaking and reading and writing comprehension. Therefore, you should be able to:

• participate in discussions of a complex nature
• share your thoughts clearly
• understand technical documents
• write reports in English with confidence
