
Dietitians plan, organize, conduct and supervise programs in nutrition, diet and food service. Hospitals, nursing homes, government, industry and educational institutions employ dietitians. They may also be self-employed such as working in private practice.
This profession is regulated in Manitoba by the College of Dietitians of Manitoba.
Note: The college conducts the licensing process in English only. Thus, all requested documents must be translated into English.

STEP 1: Contact the College of Dietitians of Manitoba and tell them you are an internationally educated dietitian and would like information on how to become licensed to practise in Manitoba.

STEP 2: Ask the College of Dietitians of Manitoba what service they want you to use to have your education assessed.
STEP 3: Complete the College of Dietitians of Manitoba application form.
You must submit the following:
Applications will be assessed by the college. Applicants may be required to upgrade university courses and/or complete a practicum assessment.
STEP 4: You must complete the Canadian dietetic registration examination.
STEP 5: When all requirements have been met and fees paid, the college will license you to practise as a dietitian in Manitoba.

Annual membership fee is C$525.
The Canadian dietetic registration examination can be written twice yearly in Winnipeg. The fee is C$400.
Membership with the Dietitians of Canada is optional.
